Instances
Over the years, I have accumulated lots of different instances of my work... working for both small and massive businesses alike. Although I would love to show all of them to you, some of them I am not really allowed, and others you would rather not see due to older technologies and implementation methods used. Instead, I have provided some more recent and relevant works of mine below. As well as a few plug-and-play web widgets I am either currently working on or have developed in the past. If you have any specific questions related to work examples provided, or would like to see more, feel free to drop a request on the networking page.
Over the past 15+ years, I have been responsible for deciding what is the best approach when presented with technical client-based problems and carrying out to completion. I have vast knowledge of the Adobe Creative suite and can create many different forms of media. Currently, I design and develop web-based media using a host of technologies. HTML(5), CSS(3), JavaScript, PHP, etc... and provide technical expertise in video codecs for web and creating custom compression. I specialize in custom development as well as serving technologies and SEO in terms of page load speed and server security. I am also capable of creating/serving Progressive Web Apps and keeping your site cryptographically secure (when necessary) to deliver the modern functionality of the web.

Although, there are not too many examples listed here, I challenge you to look at this website, or any of the others listed below in tools such as Google PageSpeed Insights, Varvy's SEO Tool, as well as HTBridge's Web Server Security Test or Qualys SSL Labs to see the results for yourself. Now, compare some of the competitor sites using the same tools to see the difference. (If you are a web developer yourself, try analyzing the site using Lighthouse for more detailed scores and information)
What does a faster loading, more secure, aggressively caching site mean to your business? You will have far less dropped views due to load times, less chance of a hacker gaining access to your site, and better peace of mind that your site is not bottlenecking your customers with poor performance. With mobile usage being of the utmost importance and understanding that the vast majority of the world is still on 3G networks, web development has become a game of lean, mean, speed.

I also have a couple of active web widgets running for Dogwood Hills Communications and NBC Affiliate Marketing. The widgets consist of customizable count-down clocks that run of a single code base yet have many different forms of customization. Because these were developed for Dogwood Hills Communications, I will not install them directly on my site. Instead, you will find the BK Clockreator tool... Feel free to countdown to something. I also am capable of creating just about anything with JavaScript... Check out the live Telemundo Programacion iFrame Tool below (Installed on Telemundo Affiliate Sites).
Although most of my branding work is not listed here due to being done early in my career... I still enjoy developing the identity/look of a business. Below are a few of the more recent or relevant examples.
Over time, I will start to update this section with some of the posters, brochures, letterheads, and other miscellaneous design projects I have completed in recent years. Because my primary design focus is on web-related projects... A lot of my design skills can be seen on the sites and widgets I develop.
Although this section currently has no examples of content, eventually I will provide some that showcase what I started out my career in at Argonne National Laboratory. There, I developed around 140 web-based training programs with a unified look and a centralized code base for easy global updates. Due to the arrangement with Argonne, and the sensitive materials within the training courses, I am not allowed to show you most of the work from there. However, I can tell you that the training programs were built in Flash and had interactive videos and exam questions as well as several hidden (administrative) features that served Argonne well over 7 years while I was there, and several years after my work ended there.

What does the future of web-based training for Ben Kress look like? Well, I may end up making some web-related tutorials and how-to's and include them on my site or in other well-known repositories such as GitHub.
